Maldives is where sands are white as the smiles of the locals, where fish swim happily in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, where the weather is a dream, and the deep rays of the sun wait to engulf you in their arms.
My first blog about my first and memorable vacation outside India! 🙂
My brother-in-law who knows everything there is to know about hotels, destinations and travel surprised us by booking us the perfect vacation at the Paradise Island. For our honeymoon we wanted to travel to a destination where we could relax, yet be thrilled and occasionally surprised, where we were at the heart of nature but not too far from the lap of luxury! Soneva Gili(renamed to Gili Lankanfushi) proved to be just that “perfect” destination where our expectations were exceeded in all six senses. Gilli Lankanfushi has been awarded the Indian Ocean Leading Luxury resort, you can check out more on that here.
No Shoes… No News – Very innovative concept 🙂
Luxury Water Villa
Beach front Restaurant
In our 6 day stay in the sumptuous over-water villa on the island we were pampered and looked after faultlessly. Though every experience & activity offered at Gili Lankanfushi was unique our personal favourite was the so very romantic sun set sail in the traditional dhoni and the romantic theme dinner on the one palm island.
Sunset at One Palm
Some Day I hope to see you again!
Maldives is all about kicking back, re-charging, discovering natural beauty and perfecting swaying in a hammock. Breathe it all in, Love it all out…
Different kind of Relaxation
Brief visit at the Meera Spa for a massage along with my husband was fantastic. We were both warmly greeted by the staff and the massage was perfect, attention was paid to the forms we completed beforehand with what we hoped to achieve, and it was finished up with a detoxing drink. Recommended – Hot Stone Massage
Other things worth trying…
- Wine tasting at the underground wine cellar
- Sushi at the Japanese restaurant
- Pomegranate juice (my favourite) at the breakfast table
- Sipping a cocktail watching sunset at the overwater bar
